Blue Grama is well-known as being a drought-tolerant, clump-forming, native grass. Blue Grama is a warm-season grass; it actively grows during the summer when soil temperatures are warm. Often seeded in as a native lawn alternative mixed with Buffalo Grass, it will reach heights of just 1' with attractive blue seed heads it left unmowed. Blue Grama prefers full to partial sun and medium-dry to dry soils. Blue Grama tolerates a wide variety of soils.
