Pawpaw (Asimina triloba)

Pawpaw fruits are the largest edible fruits native to the United States. The fruits not only support wildlife, but are a tasty treat for humans as well! They thrive in moist environments, and rich soils yield more fruits. Young leaves emerge with an ornamental gloss. Its small, maroon flowers bloom just as its leaves first unfurl in the spring.
