Sweetbay Magnolia (Magnolia virginiana)

Sweetbay Magnolia has fragrant flowers that are 4 to 6 inches across and open in the morning and close at night for 2 to 3 days. It is one of the last trees to lose its leaves in the fall and sometimes keeps them all winter.
